In June the Troop
ventured with 27 boys to the Assateague Island National Seashore for
a weekend of fun in the sand. To say that the Troop was close
to the beach is an understatement since we were on the beach.
Our sites were only separated from the surf by the dunes we camped
near. All the boys enjoyed the sounds of surf as they retired
to their tents. The weather was beautiful and the boys
completed some serious sand engineering on the beach with a massive
project that had all the boys involved.
We were also able to view the countless number of birds on the
island along with the main attraction, the wild horses of Assateague
