Sean Salzman
Eagle Scout
Sean Emerson Salzman is the son of
Jane and Robert Salzman of
Bushkill Township.
He will be graduating from
Nazareth Area
High School, where he is a member of the National Honor
Society. Sean is active in the German club at school,
and produces videos with Exploding Foot Studios, along
with the other founding members of EFS. He is looking
forward to studying and then pursuing a career in
engineering after high school.
Sean started his
Scouting career as a Tiger Cub in Holbrook,
NY.
When his family moved to
Pennsylvania,
he joined Pack 44 as a second year Webelo. He went on to
earn the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting’s highest award.
Sean then crossed over to Troop 44, where he worked his
way up the ranks of Scouting on his path to Eagle.
Sean has had many leadership positions
in Troop 44. He has served as a Den Chief to Pack 44,
Patrol Leader, Scribe, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader,
Senior Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide.
On his path to Eagle, Sean has earned
a total of 26 merit badges, including 12 badges required
for the Eagle rank.
For his Eagle Scout project, Sean
built a brick walkway from an existing brick Memorial
Wall on St. Brigid’s grounds to the street in front of
the church, and around to the church’s back door. Sean
also built a planter box using landscape ties and
planted it with shrubs, in order to screen the memorial
area from the street. He also planted perennials in the
nearby church grounds. Sean was responsible for planning
his project, raising funds for it, and coordinating the
workers who helped him complete his project, with a
total of 292 man hours put into the project.
