To provide the most secure and simple what for Troop members to provide pictures to the website, the Troop has implemented a service form our hosting company.  This feature provides a temporary online storage folder that users can upload images to and the webmaster can download pictures from. 

The Troop has a 1Gb folder, so it is important to sent the email to the webmaster so the files can be removed from the folder before it fills completely.

If you do not have the user name and password please email the webmaster and he will forward the secure credentials to you.

How to upload: OPTION 1 (PREFERRED)
  1. Resize your images to 1024 x 768. - see hot tips below -  Full resolution images will fill the Online File Folder very quickly.
  2. Click on the link below to access the Online File Folder login
  3. Enter the login name Troop44 and password (pass is available from webmaster.
  4. Select the add file button and upload your files individually
    (You can select the new folder option on the left column under folders to place files in a named folder of your choice such as yourname_event.) - see hot tips below -
  5. Send a email to the webmaster notifying that you have uploaded images for the website.

How to upload: OPTION 2 (ALTERNATE)
  1. Resize your images to 1024 x 768. - see hot tip below - Full resolution images will fill the Online File Folder very quickly.

  3. The messages must have the word Pictures in the subject and only the word Pictures on the subject or the message will be rejected.  The total email size also can not exceed 20Mbs or the file will not be accepted by the GoDaddy servers.
  4. Send a 'separate' email to the webmaster notifying that you have send files to the online file folder.


HOT TIP:
 To easily resize your images, you can use the Microsoft PowerToys called Image Resizer.  The application is free and very easy to use.

HOT TIP:  With Online File Folder you select files one at a time before you batch upload them.  To make the upload easier for you, use a program like WinZip or the free 7-ZIP to zip multiple files into one before you upload them.

To make picture viewing easier for all visitors, please resize you images to 1024 x 768 pixels before uploading. See HOT TIP.

At this resolution, the pictures will still looks outstanding on most computer monitors.

Since Troop members often request the high resolution versions of the file, if possible, provide the Webmaster with a CD or DVD of the images at a later date.
